It is often daunting when you arrive at a restaurant to discover no vacancy because they needa reservation. Even if you did a reservation but did not follow the protocol, you may not be able to get your desired accommodation. However, there are some restaurants who do not require reservations, but most fine restaurants necessarily prefer reservation such as Menu Barbados particularly if they are located on tourists’ places such as overlooking the ocean, at the shore of a lake, or even in the cities that have places of heritage importance. In addition to this, famous restaurants essentially emphasize on the reservation on special holidays if they are likely to be crowded. They do this in order to plan appropriately and schedule enough staff to ensure a smooth flow of customers.

If you have a plan to take someone special for a special dinner at your special restaurant on a special occasion such as Valentine’s Day, or Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, New Year’s eve, or other special holiday, make your reservation in advance so that the restaurant will try their best to ensure the accommodation of a specific table or a general location as per your requirement. You need to call the restaurant management at least a week in advance and special occasions, maybe a couple of weeks ahead because some restaurants are usually booked much earlier such as a month or two months before the event. Famous restaurants are booked a year in advance if you need the reservation on holiday seasons.

You should make sure that the reservation is confirmed with all the requests you have done. In spite of their confirmation, you need to call them the day before your arrival once again to confirm that everything is ready. Calling them before one day will also create an opportunity for you to ask about the special requests you made for some special requirements. Similarly, try your best to show up at least five to ten minutes before the reservation, and if you feel you may be delayed, you should necessarily call the management and inform them about your delay. Most restaurants provide a short time before allotting the table to some other customers.

Get information on the tipping policy and accordingly get yourself prepared for the tipping. If in the case you are not able to fulfil the reservation, you essentially need to cancel well ahead. But you should not make the restaurant cancellation a habit because most restaurants maintain a database which keeps them updated on the customers who are chronic cancellers.
